Operations Capability…
We have capacity to carry out 17 different operations on our products.
Following are some of our key operations,
Machining…
We have our machining section to perform initial operations on different raw materials like OHNS, MS, En31 etc. It includes operations like band saw cutting, Turning, Milling, D.R.O drilling and so on. Further heat treatment, cryogenic treatments & subzero operations are carried by outsourcing.
Heat treatment
Heat treatment is done the machined job to increase its hardness and hence the wear resistance. Gauges are heat treated till the hardness of 58-62 HRC is reached as per IS:7018 (Supply conditions for gauges). Tempering is done on the gauges after sub-zero operation to relief the residual stresses. Job is further carried forward towards sub-zero processes.
SUB-ZERO & CRYOGENIC TREATMENT
Sub-zero & cryogenic treatments are carried out after heat treatment to convert the 2-3% retained austenite produced during heat treatment into hardened martensitic phase. Process provides very high dimensional stability to our gauges to make them capable of being dimensionally stable in different temperature variations. Sub-zero is used for limit gauges with close manufacturing tolerances & cryogenic treatment is used where there is a need of unique close accuracies for example, manufacture of steel gauge blocks.
Black Anodizing…
Black Anodizing also known as blackodizing process is done on the gauges after heat treatment process to give the job anti rust characteristics as well as better aesthetics by changing its color at elevated temperatures. Process can be carried out before grinding in case of limit gauges & after finishing of the job in case of special gauging fixtures.
Sand Casting…
Sand casting process is used produced lightweight, ergonomic & durable casting designs of Snap Gauge casting bodies, Comparator casting bodies etc designed by our Suyash Designers. We use Grey Cast Iron (G.C.I) as a casting material which has better castability, light in weight (density upto 7200kg/m3) than steel bodies.
Powder Coating…
Powder coating process is used to anti rust characteristics as well as better aesthetics to sand cast parts designed by our Suyash Designers. Powder coating is an essential process after machining & cleaning of sand cast parts.
Grinding…
Rough & finish grinding processes are done on the product to finish or semi finish stages. Cylindrical & surface grinding processes are carried out on the heat treated & sub-zero treated jobs to its semi finish or finish stages depending on accuracy of the job. We can conduct this operation on hardened steels as well as tungsten carbide jobs with the help of most of the imported machines from the best manufacturers with finest accuracies. Further it is carried forward to lapping section for final sizes.
EDM Wirecut…
EDM Wirecut is a non-conventional manufacturing process which is basically for special gauging fixtures where there is a need of higher co-ordinate accuracies. Our machines can produce co-ordinate accuracies of less than 10 µm for all axes.
Lapping…
Most important & unique in house operation of all is lapping process. Operation is hand operated operation by a skilled operator. Very few manufacturers in india have this technique of producing very high accuracy jobs. We have established our expertise in this operation since 1984 for our product. Accuracy of less than a micron can be achieved in this operation for round jobs & accuracy in few nanometers can be achieved for flat jobs.

We have state of the art calibration lab implementing standard quality management systems which are certified under ISO9001:2000 & now are updated to ISO 9001:2015. Our scope of calibration includes,
